The Best Time for Braces and What to Know

Bandeen Orthodontics believes that the best time for braces is anytime! We work with a wide range of ages and understand that convenience with quality care is key for our customers. That is why at Bandeen Orthodontics we provide our clients with early, teen, and adult treatment options. There is no age that is more acceptable for braces and Invisalign than the other – it entirely depends on your mouth and teeth. Some early treatments may need a second treatment once they reach their teens, while others only need treatment once they hit their teens or adulthood. With our average treatment time being shorter than ever, many adults will come in for braces as well, knowing that instead of 2-3 years, it now can take as little as 12-18 months. We utilize the Damon System for our braces in addition to Invisalign.

Damon System and Insignia Advanced Smile Design

At our orthodontics office in Kalamazoo, we are recognized as a Damon System Premier Provider and Dr. Tim Bandeen is known nationally as a Damon Certified Educator. We have found that the Damon method gives our patients lighter forces, less discomfort, and a shorter treatment time than other braces. The Damon braces come in either clear or metal and tend to be smaller than other braces as well. In addition to this, they are also easier to clean than the braces that have the colored rings and hurt less because they don’t need as much pushing to move the teeth.

The Insignia Advanced Smile Design is way that our doctors can plan your treatment results before placement of the braces. This method allows us to place your braces in the precise location we want them for the best possible finish before even placing them. We take custom brackets and wires that are built exact to each tooth and place them where they need to go with the end goal in mind.

Invisalign Orthodontics

Invisalign is a unique orthodontics technique that can work for patients that need varying changes made to their teeth alignment. This method does not work for all teeth and if a different way seems more appropriate to get the desired end result, we will let you know before the placement. Invisalign is a treatment with aligners and every 2-4 weeks, you are given new aligners. This moves your teeth into the correct position. The time length varies per person.

At Bandeen Orthodontics, we work with our patients on getting them the best treatment for their individual needs. Whether it be braces, Invisalign, help with sleep apnea, or mouth guards – we are there to guide and help you throughout the treatment process.
